Want to accelerate your progress?
Build a strong foundation of head and figure drawing fundamentals.

Feel like you're missing the knowledge and skills you need to reach the next level in your art?

Ever wanted to master figure and head drawing fundamentals once and for all, but felt unsure of where to start?

With a structured, single-source learning system, artists can focus on what matters most: learning the fundamentals of drawing and consistently practicing long enough to see improvement.

If you're an artist that has been drawing for some time, but wants to make a serious push forward in your skills, you're the perfect fit for our school. We've created three drawing programs that are clear, concise, and incorporate repeated practice to ensure you develop the working skills you need to create art at a high level.

Think of this as more of a training program than a series of courses. You'll learn fundamental skills on a deeper and deeper level as you go along.

Our mission at Foundation Art School is to teach artists the fundamental drawing skills they need to draw heads and figures confidently in any pose without relying on copying reference. We provide the foundation you need to move ahead to the next level and tackle more advanced techniques and subjects in your art.

Our lead instructor, Brian Knox, taught figure and head fundamentals at Watt's Atelier for 7 years before we started Foundation Art School in 2022. He's taught hundreds of artists how to accurately construct the head and figure and is passionate about taking the complexities of figure drawing and breaking them down into simple, easy-to-understand explanations.

Our three drawing programs provide a comprehensive education in head and figure drawing fundamentals. Throughout the 26 included courses, you'll learn all the fundamental drawing skills you need.

You'll know exactly how to set up every drawing with accurate proportions and how to establish proper perspective. Brian will teach you every step in simple terms that you can put into practice right away. You'll learn to construct the poses rather than copying reference. This is important because moving away from reference allows you to draw from your imagination or to modify the reference to suit your creative style or vision.

With our training system, you'll know exactly what to study and why each step and technique relates to everything else. No more confusion or sifting through endless tutorials and lessons online. All you'll need to do is show up and draw. Over time the results will compound and you'll find yourself drawing figures more easily and enjoyably.
