5-Week Online Drawing Course Starting 07/30
We'll start out with a deep-dive into torso anatomy covering both skeletal and muscular anatomy of the torso.

Next, Brian will show you how to lay in a rhythmical gesture of the torso. This step will allow you to establish the ribcage and pelvis placement and perspective quickly and will set you up for success for the rest of your drawing.

For weeks three and four, you'll learn how to layer the anatomy covered in week one onto the gestural lay-in taught in week two. This strategic approach to figure drawing allows you to work out the perspective, size, and shape relationships of the figure before you begin to draw anatomy.

Finally in week five, Brian will demo three shadow-mapped torsos.

    How this class works:

A new demo is released on Thursday each week of the 5-week class.

Access to the demos, critique videos, and reference images ends 2 weeks after the end date of the class. At that point you will no longer be able to access class content.

This class will be added to the Structural Anatomy Mastery Program upon its completion. If you have purchased the Structural Anatomy Mastery Program or plan to, then you will get access to these demos, crit videos, and reference images after the class ends. You are still welcome to register for the Feedback level of this class if you're interested in the critiques but I would not recommend registering as an audit student because SAMP students will have access to this class after it ends.

    Feedback level students:
After a demo is released, students have five days to draw their own drawings and upload them for critique. I film very thorough critiques that can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour long depending on what's required. Because of this it can take some time to get all of the crits filmed. I do my best to keep up but I frequently fall behind part way through the term.

It's important that students do their best to get their drawings uploaded on time. The deadline for student uploads is 5 days after a demo has been released. I know what it's like to fall behind and miss a deadline so I will accept a late submission and add it to the following weeks critique video if the current one has already been released. There is one major exception to this rule: The ultimate deadline is when I have completed filming the week 5 critique video. Once that is done then the class is over. So if you fall behind, make sure to get caught up before I release the week 5 crit video.

When I fall behind on filming the crits I usually extend the end date of the class accordingly. At that point I'm not entirely sure when I'll have the week 5 video finished. If you want to be sure that all 5 of your drawings are included in the crit videos then it is important to make sure they are all uploaded within 5 days after the week 5 demo is released.
