Structural Anatomy: Feet

dates: 10 / 08 / 2022 - 11 / 05 / 2022

One’s ability to draw feet can make or break a drawing, thus, a thorough understanding of the human foot is essential.

In this class, you will learn:

  • Foot anatomy
  • Underlying structure
  • Large forms of the foot
  • Simplified feet
  • Finished Feet

Figure drawing requires a thorough understanding of human anatomy. One area that is often overlooked is the human foot. Structural Anatomy: Feet is an in depth study of the human foot starting with the underlying anatomy and then progressing to examine the structural forms of the foot and then, eventually, simplified and rendered feet. Each week builds on the week before in a way that will help expand one’s understanding of human feet and one’s ability to draw them. This class is designed for all levels and is suggested for anyone who has an interest in developing a deeper understanding of the human foot in relation to figure drawing. Week 1 = Foot anatomy, Week 2-3 = Structure of the foot, Week 4 = Simplified foot drawings, Week 5 = Finished foot drawings.
