Foreshortened Figure Drawing

Each week will demo one figure drawing with an emphasis on foreshortened poses.
In this class, you will learn:

CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Foreshortening is the illusion of depth in a drawing. Foreshortened Figure Drawing will focus on figure poses with elements coming directly toward or away from the viewer. Often considered one of the more difficult aspects of figure drawing, this class will approach the foreshortened figure in a logical and easy to understand way that is designed for beginning and intermediate students alike. Each week will demonstrate one foreshortened figure pose while emphasizing drawing concepts that are critical to foreshortening, such as: comparative measurement, plumb lines, negative shapes, angles, basic shapes and one’s ability to visualize them from any angle, overlap, perspective, diminution, and more. If you want to enhance your ability to draw the foreshortened figure, then this class is for you!
Weeks 1 and 2 will focus on gesture and structure and the principles of foreshortening. Weeks 3 and 4 will start with gesture and structure and then add shadow mapping. Week 5 will speed things up a bit and include some full value work.

You'll be able to find your viewing history in the History tab in case you'd like to revisit a previously watched demo. If you are an Unlimited subscriber, you can watch as many videos as you'd like each month. You can also save demos in the My Videos tab for quick reference or save full classes in the My Classes tab if you'd like to work through your demos sequentially as a class.
